Human SynFire Glutamatergic Induced Neurons co-culture studies

Co-Culture kits contain Glutamatergic, Astroglia, and all of the media necessary to establish a co-culture model for functional neuron studies. Kits containing glutamatergic and GABAergic neurons, astroglia and media Cat. No. NC1010-1.5), or only GABAergic neurons, astroglia, and media (Cat. No. NC1002-10) are also available.

Glutamatergic Induced Neuron Kits are available in two sizes, small (Cat. No. NC1001-10) and large (Cat. No. NC1001-50). In addition, the Glutamatergic Induced Neurons are available separately in small (Cat. No. NC1001-20) and large (Cat. No. MC1001-60) sizes.  Please see the specification for kit contents.

SynFire iNs (Induced Neurons) are suitable for a variety of biochemical assays. For example, the effect of compounds on neuronal survival, axonal outgrowth, or dendritic arborization can be measured by standard assessment of viability, or image-based analysis of labeled cells, respectively. When co-cultured with glial cells, effects on synapse formation and composition, transcriptional programs, and electrophysiology can be tested. Neuronal subtypes can be mixed in different ratios for making a defined co-culture for different experimental purposes.

Elecrophysiology of iNs
Patch-clamp studies show mature intrinsic and extrinsic properties in SynFire Glutamatergic Neuron cultures. Firing is inhibited by GABAergic blockers including CNQX.

Storage and Stability

Store in cells in liquid nitrogen (Astroglia) or -80°C freezer (iNs) immediately upon receipt. Store other reagents at temperature indicated on the label.

This product is stable for at least 6 months from the date of receiving when stored as directed.

QC

Functional validation of maturation and neural network formation potential of iPSC derived induced neurons has been done on MEAs. All cells have been tested for chromosomal integrity and the absence of pathogens (i.e. mycoplasma, etc). Full characterization included in the Certificate of Analysis.

Restricted Use

For Research Use Only (RUO). Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
